DescriptionMaximize/Minimize

This film was the first full length feature to use the three-strip Technicolor process and stars Miriam Hopkins in the title role. Set during the end of the Napoleonic era, this tale centers on Becky Sharp, a young woman from a lower class family that works her way up into society through contacts she makes while at school. After using various men to raise her status with society, Becky's standing is dealt a serious blow and is forced to work as a singing girl working in a beer hall. Undaunted by her decline, Becky vows to once again gain her status with society and eventually resumes her climb.
